Firefly Viewings in New Canaan
June 26 @ 8:30 pm - July 9 @ 8:30 pm

Since opening in 2015, the New Canaan Land Trust’s Firefly Sanctuary has grown in popularity. In an effort to protect the Sanctuary and the firefly population itself, we require advanced registration for admittance into the sanctuary during the peak firefly viewing season of June 26 through July 9. Registration for each night will open one week prior to that date, below. Visitors are welcome to visit the Firefly Sanctuary outside of these dates, without registering. While not the “peak” of the firefly season, the fireflies will still be active through mid/late July.

Parking for the Firefly Sanctuary is located across from 33 Sleepy Hollow Road. Please park on the grassy pull-off, near the white welcome sign for the sanctuary. Please plan to arrive by 8:30pm. Visitors will not be admitted into the Firefly Sanctuary after 8:45, in an effort to reduce light pollution from flashlights. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the fireflies until 10:30.
