Experience moments of peace and tranquility with improvisational arrangements of seasonal music, performed by acclaimed musicians and curated by renowned saxophonist and Grace Farms Music Director Marcus G. Miller. Songs of the Season is free and included with daily registration. Today’s performance features Phoebe Katis. Phoebe Katis captivates audiences through her magnetic vocals, infectious melodies, and honest lyrics.  The UK-native, now NYC-based artist, is a songwriter, storyteller, and pianist who blends elements of Broadway, pop, and funk to create her one-of-a-kind sound. A sought-after vocalist, Katis has toured the US, UK, and Europe with her own project and as a guest vocalist. She wrote and performed the theme song for the BAFTA and BIFA-winning film Kilo Two Bravo, and has since released 4 albums. She has worked with industry heavyweights including Grammy-nominated artist Cory Wong, Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist Dave Koz, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Louis Cato (now leading Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show Band), and world-renowned funk band Scary Pockets.

Class consists of warm up at the “barre,” floor stretches, center dance, and free-form freeze dance. Come dance like a ballerina and perform in the showcase at the end of the session. Thanksgiving Weekend Waddle

Grab the entire family and head down to the Nature Center on Saturday, November 25 for a healthy, invigorating Trail Trek to work off that holiday meal! You won’t want to miss this awesome annual event, a long-time favorite for both members and guests. There are two Trail Treks scheduled, one at 10 a.m. and the second at 11 a.m.. There is no pre-registration required, so visitors are welcome to drop in. Participants are asked to meet at the Sugar Shack at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. While “waddling” the trails, you’ll search for some of nature’s most treasured gifts (apple trees, maple trees & honey bees to name a few) and learn why the end of autumn may not be quite as quiet as you may think. In fact, autumn is a busy time of year for many wild animals such as deer, squirrels & birds! As an extra Thanksgiving bonus, after the hike, you’ll also get to enjoy a FREE behind-the-scenes tour of our Animal Care facilities & Birds of Prey Exhibit!
